    Overview

Since ’93, Rudy’s has been a staple of Seattle’s creative community. For over 25 years our stylists and barbers have provided superior cuts, color, and service to a diverse clientele. We’re looking for an individual to join our team who will work hard to ensure that our shops continue to be comfortable, inviting spaces where every customer feels at home.

As the Front Desk Host, you’ll be face of Rudy’s. From bookending the client experience with outstanding customer service to setting the mood with the right music, you’ll be responsible for keeping the shop looking fresh and feeling fun. If you’ve ever been described as a people person, calm under pressure, punctual, hospitable, organized, encouraging, or a multi-tasker then this fast-paced job is for you

    Responsibilities

    • Book client appointments in shop and over the phone, maximizing the schedule for each stylist
    • Keep the shop clean; sweeping, laundry, dusting retail, etc.
    • Ring out transactions, verifying sales totals throughout the day
    • Oversee the shop floor activity and keep the energy up
    • Encourage and motivate coworkers to perform to the best of their abilities
    • Act as the host on the floor, greeting clients warmly and striving to guarantee their full satisfaction every visit
    • Stay calm and collected during periods of occasional intensity
    • Have fun balancing multiple priorities: ringing phones, guests at the desk, cleaning duties, DJ duties, and cash/credit transactions
    • Applicants must be over 21 and able to obtain a MAST permit upon hire

    We offer:

    - Creative, fun environments with diverse clientele and coworkers
    • A be yourself atmosphere with no dress code and where you choose the music
    • Flexible scheduling and the ability to pick up shifts around town if desired
    • A sense of community and company values of giving back to those we serve
    • Benefits: medical, dental, vision

    Qualifications:

    • Class 12 MAST (Mandatory Alcohol Server Training) Permit will be required
    • Must have flexible availability

    Overview

In 1993, a few friends opened up a little shop in Seattle where early grunge icons got their hair cut, shared music and art, and drank beer. Since then, Rudy’s has grown up a bit—in size, shop count, and attitude. Some things haven’t changed: we believe that everybody is welcome, that everybody should be empowered to do what they love, and have fun doing it. Some things have: we no longer offer tattoos, we’re up to a total of 25 shops, and we’re more focused than ever.

Rudy’s legacy is built on the craftsmanship of our stylists and barbers, who work passionately every day to cut, color, and connect. We hire talented, diverse people with interesting lives. Does your band go on tour? Are you raising a kid? Raising a dog? More of a Netflix person? Good. At Rudy’s, you’ll enjoy things like flexible scheduling, paid sick time, paid in house education, six-hour shifts, app-scheduled appointments, and health insurance—whether you’re a receptionist, a shop manager, or a stylist on the rise.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate reliably high-quality technical skills
    • Do your part to maintain a fun, drama-free, ethical workplace for a diverse staff of talented artists and support staff
    • Attend regular education classes to improve on current technical skillset and keep up with changing techniques and trends
    • Meet retail goals with our line of superior products through chair education
    • Make sure that every client walks away from your shop with the best possible haircut and customer service
    • Work with your team to ensure the shop is squeaky clean and aligns with brand standards
    • Respect individuals' diverse experiences and work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds
    • Above all, always set the bar high through dedication, hard work, and excellence

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of six months/one year of behind-the-chair experience
    • Must have flexible availability; including nights and weekends

    Benefits/Compensation

    •Health Insurance
    •Vision and Dental available
    •Commission pay*
