When we first launched our all new 1—2—3 line of products, we knew we not only wanted to provide our customers with amazing shower essentials, but also wanted to find a way to give back to the LGBTQ community—a group that’s always been a core part of Rudy’s. That’s why we reached out to our longtime partners at the It Gets Better Project to find a way to support homeless LGBTQ youth, a group disproportionately affected by the issues of homelessness.
For every purchase of any 1—2—3 product, Rudy’s will donate the same product to a shelter that serves LGBTQ youth so that everybody can feel their best.
Thanks to the support of the It Gets Better Project, we have created an ongoing donation program that benefits shelters in nine cities across the U.S. (and counting). By supplying these organizations with day-to-day essentials—like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash—we've been able to contribute to a young person's sense of well-being in some small way.
To take a closer look at the impact this partnership has created, we traveled to Los Angeles to visit one of the many recipients of the donation, My Friend’s Place. Since 1988, the organization has been empowering young people experiencing homelessness with career resources and transformative creative programming.
